About Inka Nisinbaum

Inka Nisinbaum has a knack for beating death. She became the first woman to give birth to a healthy baby after receiving a double lung and liver transplant. No matter what’s thrown her way—like cystic fibrosis, chronic lung rejection, or cancer—Inka fights back with snark, cuss words, and her favorite companion: stubbornness. She has also translated subtitles for MacGyver, ran two half-marathons, and raced new and vintage cars for 2000 km Durch Deutschland. When she’s not defying all odds, she’s writing stories that make room for miracles. She is the author of the German books Ich Bin Noch Da, Emails vom Tod, and Emma und Sam. Inka lives in Colorado with her always-cooking husband and her all-around athletic son. The Anomaly is her debut English memoir. You can sign up to get updates about their writing here.
